What you chose to enter was a good idea. The rays of light are a beautiful representation of hope. There are a few things that you could have done to this photo to give it some "pep".

I would have straightened the horizon. They way it is now causes the eye to look at the picture at a slant.

Where the light shines through the clouds is a little blown out. I don't know if it was already like this or if you did it. This could be fixed a little with levels. It would be nice to have a little more contrast to give the mountains some "pop" and it would also highlight where the sunlight was touching the ground.

I would have also taken out the lightpole and the fence. Maybe even dodge and burn the clouds to create an impact instead of adjusting the pictures overall contrast.

I hope this was helpful to you. You had a great idea, and I am sure you will have many more. Keep trying and good luck in future challenges.

Nice rays, overall though the image appears to be a little dark

Nice work. A graduated ND filter would bring out the detail in the foreground and make it pop.

Beautiful image. Is there a catagory for "Rays of Hope?".

Interesting light pattern through the clouds. Maybe a little more contrast would help give it some zip.

Very nice. I love sunray shots. It might be even more powerful if it was straight. Nice shadows on the foothills.

Great shot, love the way you'cve captured the rays. I think your title should have been more within the challenge specifications however...."Sympathy" "Religion" or "Bereavement" would all have worked well and been squarely within the challenge rules.

The photo is crooked, sunlit clouds are completely blown out. Foreground is too dark and lacks detail.

I like how the rays come down and light up selected areas, but the area they come through seems quite overexposed

It may be the hill, but the photo gives the impression of being slightly tilted (down a bit on the right). Whether illusion or an actual tilt, rotating it CCW a little would have improved this in my opinion. Not sure I've ever seen a "Rays of Hope" greeting card catagory.
