Taken at 4:15am. The look of pain was real. I hate getting up early.

I set my camera up next to my bed the night before, and used a remote switch. Took about a dozen shots. Picked this one because the pouty lips make me laugh.

Lighting was from a single, annoying, incandescent desk lamp, pointed directly at my face.

Cropped, resized, desaturated, adjusted curves and levels, and applied sharpen and unsharp mask.

Thanks for the comments everyone! For the record, the over-sharpening was a deliberate attempt to add an "irritation" vibe to the picture, and was inspired by bear_music's "Irritation -- No-Shoot Zone" photo.

This does a nice job conveying the emotion implied by the title. Well composed and leveled. It might be a bit oversharpened, at least to my taste, but the sharpening is effective at capturing the texture of the face. If advanced editing were available, I might have cloned out a few hot pixels, but they don't distract very much at all. Nicely done!

Simple and clever. This is too real I don't think it's even a setup. Good lighting and I love the expression. Well done.
