Beautiful colors and light. The tilt of the tree seems welcoming, beckoning. All one could ask of a winter morning, or evening.

Absolutely enchanting. A bliss of green. The detail is wonderful. This little hopper looks like a gentleman in Parliament arising to make a point of order. The majestic eye, dainty legs and feet, antennas, armor - revelatory. The bedewed spider web bunting is an extraordinary backdrop. The supporting leaf, or whatever, a magic carpet.
Personal favorite of the challenge.

Wondrous image of an everyday scene. The light, pouring in from two windows, is a tender blossom encompassing an eternal moment. The mom and child are so natural and appealing that it sets the world aright. The complicated composition comes together like clockwork, inevitable and satisfying. There's so much to see here that the eye dances along the many subtle lines, and is amply rewarded. Horizontally across the people. Vertically through the kitchen entranceway. From the artfully sectioned circle in the upper left, a secondary moon, to the mysteriously translucent chair finial on the center right. Then there's the jacket draped over the left-hand chair back, a promise of return.
The nine is from me. Why not a ten? Must've been off my meds.
One of my favorite family scenes of all time, and my personal favorite of the challenge. Thanks, Lynn.

First of all, what Don said.
This is my personal favorite of the challenge. It took a bit of peering to see the brief paths of the raindrops, like a meteor shower, to get 'water on water'. But then I was all in. It's a beautiful abstract-ish evocation of water, and its continuity with the sky, and mediated with a darker blue land. And mentioning blue, what a delicious buffet you serve up. It feels like I'm swimming through this image, sensing and being buffeted by the power and enchantment of nature, so immediate is its grip. It reminds me of Japanese art, especially the ripples in the water and, pardon me, the delicacy of a watercolor painting.
I wish I could attach a hundred helium filled balloons to the top of this picture and float it into, get this, the upper blue reaches of the lot.

I love the yellow throughout, how it mingles with green, and the bit of terra cotta up top that echoes the color of the basin. And of course the action.

A triumph of imagination and execution. I like Mariuca's observation about the fox/dog. And where do the birds come to light? Powerfully emotive.

As Tim said, curtains. The bleakest, most real image of them all. A tour de force of the imagination.

I love this evocation of the end, as it spreads through every humble patch of existence. The use of red and green is remarkable, an emphasis that is painful in its intensity. The faint playground in the middle ground is a sob caught in the throat. And to where will the birds flee?
Personal favorite of the challenge.
