it has been raining and we've got so much green grass .. very different from this time last year when everything was brown from a long drought and the bushfires were raging everywhere ..
this wild, very large male kangaroo, was grazing just outside my yard .. i'd never seen one so close to the house and so chilled out .. !! ..
i ran into the house and grabbed my camera .. luckily i already had the 1.4x teleconverter on for the bird shots .. it enabled me to get 'close' and also get the fence posts out of focus as well .. which i felt was a good thing .. it shows he's outside looking in ... i think they add to the story .. hopefully the voters will feel the same ...

i took a few shots and toddy came thru the doggy door scaring the kangaroo away ..
but i got what i wanted ..
they'd never let me get so close out in the paddock and they can attack .. especially the full grown males ..
was going to enter a grasshopper in this free study .. but i felt this might appeal to the voters more ..
fingers crossed .. !! .. ;)

after rollover ...
was hoping to get in the top five ..
I'm so happy with this result ..
thankyou everyone for your lovely comments and votes xxx

That is the cutest kangaroo (?) I have ever seen. Still amazed how you get these beautiful animals outside your yard. We only get them in the zoo in the UK if we are lucky. Congrats on the HM!
