A View of Yesterdayby BakerBugComment: Nothing emotive or compelling here for me. I feel your colors are disturbingly off...washed out with a yellow cast. |

Shay No. 7by KenComment: I like the smoothness of the highlights on the engine...gives it a surreal feeling. The smoke is a big plus but the non-descript sky brings it down. I wonder if the background elements were softened and muted into wispy shadows if your subject would carry the impact it deserves... |

Rail Runnerby klie0500Comment: I like the angle of view but other than "this is a train" I'm not sure what the image says. |

Lake of Luzern Fun 1by Noel_ZHComment: Love the saturation on this edited version. Would like to see a bit more light on her face...might try dodging a bit there. I've found that using a new layer set to "overlay" or "soft light" and working with a low opacity brush gives me the most control in dodge/burn....how are you doing it? |

Lake of Luzern Fun 2by Noel_ZHComment: I generally do not enjoy motion blur of this type...it just makes me dizzy to look at an image like this. However, I think it adds a lot to the mood of the subject and rescues what is otherwise a distracting background from interfering. It seems that the effect has created a halo around your lady's head that isn't in the orignal (thanks for including that for comparison, btw)...is there some way of avoiding it? Perhaps you could burn the highlights out of the halo and some of the background elements? |

IMG_0176.jpgby I Enjoy HamComment: it's nice, actually....i wonder what it would be with a (very) little fill on the right side of your face...but it has a special mood the way it is...lovely profile. and i like the way you've used the negative space..it says alot that right off anyone with a background in Amer. Lit. knows that you're going for a Sam Clemens character. |

Spirit in the Lakeby NeilComment: Nice! What a pleasant composition for those falls! Wonderful study in motion and pattern!
I know exactly where that was taken as I dropped my lens hood into those waters last year about this time....you didn't see it, did you? ;-) |
