oh man thats awesome!!! what a neat setting!!! as the sun went behind the mountains a bit more it woulda been cool to get a little motion blur with her spinning! that ride looks fun, i wanna try it!!! |

You've already explained...in this case you made a selection (face) and set the layer to overlay....different from the method I describe but that's fine with me. I've noticed that there are many different approaches to dodge and burn...I'm just curious how other people go about it.
ps: look better...not overdone at all |

KaDi, thanks for the comments, very good point. I've now lasso'd the face, duplicated, set to overlay 30%, and I'm quite satisfied with that (definitely looks a lot better!). Love the saturation on this edited version. Would like to see a bit more light on her face...might try dodging a bit there. I've found that using a new layer set to "overlay" or "soft light" and working with a low opacity brush gives me the most control in dodge/burn....how are you doing it? |
