One of my ribbon picks -- your color pallette and water/fog/wood elements are excellently composed.

Hi Eric,

Greetings from the Critique Club...

Congrats on your personal best with a top half finish. Clearly meets the challenge in "Hidden Faces"

I agree with your decision to rotate the frame so the face is clear to the voters -- even though it gives an off-balance sense with the other items in the frame. Good sense of fun as well.

While the photo meets the challenge well, it needs to be stronger compositionally and lighting wise to keep my interest outside of a challenge.

Please pm me with any questions or comments. I hope this was helpful

Regards,
Theresa

Hi Lev,

Greetings from the Critique Club...

Nice finish in the contest. Great eye in spotting the common "face".

What's working: your central composition is direct helping me see the face. The pink sink makes the shot adding just the right amount of color. Cropped well. I don't mind the tripod shadows but don't think it helps -- a bit too flat for the "ears" message - more looks like framing for the face.

Some suggestions: The soft focus doesn't work as well. The whole shot needs to be crisp. Having the central composition without it being 100% level detracts from the symetry you've created. As mentioned by a few others the lighting is uneven and harsh in areas and doesn't add to the image.

I hope my comments are clear and helpful. Please pm me with any questions or comments.

Regards,
Theresa
