I got half way - Do I cross again?by jblaylockraynerComment: Very effective use of the fisheye effect (whether it was a lens or a filter I don't know). My only complaint is that the subject feels unfocused and a little blurry. I might try using a healing brush to sharpen the features of the face. It's a shame this one was submitted for the Centered Composition II challenge! |

I'd Rather Photograph It Than Mow Itby WildcardComment: I love the title. I also like the composition and the colors, but something about it feels "empty" to me. Perhaps the zoom is just a little too much, or maybe it was cropped just a little to tightly for my taste. My overall impression places this as a 5. |

time to cleaned my basementby whiterookComment: The lighting of this image is very unattractive to me. It feels as though it's a low-res scanned Poloroid that was cropped too wide(hence the white strip on the right of the image). I think some darkening and contrast, maybe some noise removal, could have really salvaged this image. |

I'll mow tomorrowby dleachComment: I was going to do a shot like this, but then I realized that I had no tall grass to shoot because everything around here is dead from drought. I like the overall composition, but the colors are not as vivid as I think they could be. You might consider doing a selective desaturation on every tone but the reds to make that lawmower pop out against the rest of the composition. |

I've Put Off Throwing Away Last Year's Rosesby pmichaudComment: The lighting makes this appear overexposed. Something warmer would have been more convincing. Some selective saturation (esp. oranges and greens tones). I recognize and understand that you WANTED these flowers' wilt to come out. But with so little color against that stark black backdrop, it feels like just a faulty exposure. A little creative use of a sharpening brush tool around the flowers and leaves might have helped, too. |

Long Overdueby kevip6Comment: Nice idea. You could use this to creatively propose, of course. ;-) From a photographic standpoint...the composition is attrative, but the focus is not sharp enough to be persuasive. |

Going to Churchby StuckOnTheFarmComment: Wow...this is such a creative vantage you've got going for you here. If you could have gotten the camera just a little lower, you could have lost the hint of the streetlights in the lower right by the church. It gives this building a sense (even if just an illusion?) of being in the middle of nowhere--a bit of architectural grandeur in the middle of an otherwise unimproved wasteland. Very nice. You might consider, too, lightly dodging the shadows on the front side of the church. I mean, the contrast is nice as is, but there's some nice things to be seen there and might come out a little more if the shadows weren't quite so overwhelming. Overall, I rate this one an 8. |

I'll Rake Em' Next Fallby DsealeComment: This is a very beautiful composition. Did you apply selective desaturation to achieve this effect, or is this "au natural"? |

The Ability to See - (Put off getting my eyes examined)by InClearViewComment: I like it a lot...but I think it suffers from the typical "indoor color effect" which is nice in theory but rarely works out well in practice--at least in my limited experience. If I were you, I might try this one in black-and-white or another two-tone combination, and then tweak for enhanced contrast. |
