Interesting technique to darken the edges -- it looks way better than the usual light haloing which results from heavy sharpening.

I think I have a recent frame-filling shot of a rose which might benefit from this treatment ... I'll have to try and find it.

I think I'd have put the bunch on the bottom, so that there's a progressive "zooming in" effect -- though maybe you were trying to avoid that ...

I like the way you've maintained the saturation on the petals. I tried to shoot some of these last week but they were too washed-out to be useful.

If you use the title you've printed on the layout you should get more search-result hits ... ;-)

It's sharp enough -- I try to err on the side of undersharpening, as I really dislike the halos you get when it's overdone. Your edges are distinct, as are the color "veins" on the petals -- I think it's fine. Remember you have a shallow DOF and not all of it can be sharp anyway.

I like the somewhat odd color combination; from the thumbnail it looked almost like you had flames for a backdrop. :-)
