Sweet Celebrationby Mal37Comment: I love this photo - they look so happy!! Also, the DOF, the colours - all fantastic.
I predict a ribbon.
Were there really that many or did you have a mirror backdrop? Message edited by author 2008-12-22 01:14:02. |

The Heartbeat of Treesby bucketComment: Just checking out previous 'Personification' entries to make sure I don't inadvertently duplicate a shot. This one stopped me in my tracks - utterly brilliant. |

Urban sunrise.by David NewlandComment: I have given a low score so I should justify it. For me, I think this is a bit of a non-starter composition wise. |

Looking Backby jomariComment: I gave a low score so I should justify it. This is an OK image but I don't find there is enough here to interest the eye and it doesn't score too well on the difficulty tariff either. |

Necton - 07:42!by mileskeaComment: I gave a low score so I should justify it. Although the sky is pretty - the shot doesn't say 'composed' to me. The field(?) to the left and the street lamp are too apparent to be ignored yet they are not really presented as part of the image either.
I think had you cropped down to the right hand side of this image, played with the saturation and perhaps shadows levels, you may have gotten a good shot from this exposure, but for me it looks a bit 'point-and-shoot' to live with the competition in this challenge. |

Early glow over the ridgeby jnenvirComment: I've given this a low mark so I should justify it. Composition wise, it looks like it needs straightening. The hills are in silhouette and as such would probably look better with an upwards shift of the black point.
The clouds are very nice in shape but I am sure that with a bit of attention to the blue and red saturation levels, they could look a lot better. Also is that a naval dockyard in the foreground? If so I'd like to have seen more. |

An urban morningby HighNoonerComment: I've given a low mark so I should justify it.
I'm sure you knew when you submitted this shot that not everyone would like it and I hold my hand up to that. There looks to be some really interesting buildings out there and I'd have liked to have seen more of them.
The whole effect reminds me of an old Cokin 'Dreams' filter I had years ago coupled with way too much saturation in post-processing.
I'm sorry I don't like it, but having given a low score, you deserve an explanation. |

Cow at Duskby posthumousComment: I gave a low score so I should justify it. I think the black point has been set too high which makes the cow look flat, there is a good deal of noise in the face of the cow too. Also, there are some blown highlights in the upper branches of the tree. All correctable.
Composition-wise I think chopping off the top of the tree doesn't do a lot for the image. Goodness me I've said too much, and actually I'm not good enough myself to be so bold with my critique; but I do think I should justify my score.
Subject-wise, I think there would be quite a lot of potential here but a lot of it goes unrealised. |

Misty morningby jellybellyComment: This would have been a really nice image but the banding around the sun ruins the effect. |
