Don't let anyone disuade you from your creative and artistic expression in this shot because it truly is a beautiful shot!:) Those who harshly criticized it are the "technical hounds" who tend to only see a photo a great piece if it's technically within "brilliant" realms. They ignore "artistic/creative" shots.
Always remember that what sinks in here, flies elsewhere and what flies in here, drops like a stone in other places. There are current professional photographers in here who make a very nice living in the photography realm and yet, get their pieces torn to shreds in here. So, take this with a grain of salt because it only pertains to people in here who have had their tastes trained towards a certain look in a photograph. :) Hang in there!!! You have an eye and talent! Remember too that photography technicals are a skill....creativity in a photo is an ART!!! |

I've given a low mark so I should justify it.
I'm sure you knew when you submitted this shot that not everyone would like it and I hold my hand up to that. There looks to be some really interesting buildings out there and I'd have liked to have seen more of them.
The whole effect reminds me of an old Cokin 'Dreams' filter I had years ago coupled with way too much saturation in post-processing.
I'm sorry I don't like it, but having given a low score, you deserve an explanation. |

| The processing on this seem a bit over the top and psychadelic to me. White balance seems like it might be a bit off, due to the distinct blue cast in the bottom. Peering through the drawn curtains definitely adds a really dreamy feel to this, but the outside landscape is somewhat in contrast to this feeling because of the harsh lines. |

| This is so strangely interesting! It really captures an emotion and is really quite a lovely shot and pleasing shot, even though not a technical masterpiece that is often the high score receivers in here. I really and truly love this shot. Captured my attention and made me come back to it for another look! :) |

| This feels so surreal to me, I love it. Like looking out the window to see Urban Narnia or something. Great lighting effect. |

| Its so pretty! it would have been a little better if the curtains were more in focus. and the glare on the tree isn't helping, but still pretty colours. |

| This is so darn blinding...but the more I look at it, the more I really like this. I'm sure It wouldn't have the same effect if it were in a more natural rendition. It almost seems otherworldly. |

| The colors are wonderful but it is hard to tell just what you are trying to take a picture of. I think the tree is the biggest problem on this one. |
