I've been taking pictures since my 110 I had as a child, but until I bought my first digital, I didn't take very many (except on vacations). When my P&S was destroyed, I wanted a "real" camera, but didn't have anyone to advise me on which was better.
I started w/ a Fuiji Finepix S3000 in 2003. And even though it's not supposed to be able to shoot sports, I got pretty good at timing my shots of jumping horses. I was thinking of trading up to a DSLR, but found the S9000 to have most of what I wanted for half the price.
My favorite subjects are my neices and nephews (when I see them, which is not often), the horses and riders where I take riding lessons, landscapes, and (occasionally) flowers.
