 I had no intention of entering this challenge and the idea just came to me on the last day.Sap is running from a crevise in the tree trunk. My Mother had been to Israel years ago and brought me back this Star of David/Christian Cross.I combined the two.I did very little except add a bit of midtone and USM.

The half blurred brackground to the left is distracting. Blurr it all the way or bring it into focus

Its not very clear from the photo what you were trying to show and I need to read the title to understand anything about it ( and relate how it meets the challenge ).
The glare on the subject is distracting. IMO the presentation is neither attractive nor intriguing...
I know I have criticized you a lot but this is my most honest opinion...
At my screen it looks a lot brighter, you might like to play with curves a little and saturate the green a bit to add contrast.
