did you try framing this shot vertically to get rid of most of the bushes in the foreground? If you wanted them in the picture, I wouls have tried placing the entrance in the image using the 'rule of thirds'

Nice contrasting effect, and brilliant color inside the garden :)

If there were any more dark/stark foreground I might have kept in just a bit more for contrast; I like the overall concept..

Really like this, except I feel there could have been a little less of the hedges
04/27/2002 01:11:00 PM
good shot of the garden. i like that it is not straight on
04/26/2002 05:27:00 AM
Beautiful photo. Makes me want to see more of the garden.
04/25/2002 05:14:00 PM
Nice shot, you find that you try to peek 'round the hedge to catch a glimpse of what's on the other side!!
04/25/2002 11:46:00 AM
nice colors, but there is not much holding my attention here.
04/24/2002 07:21:00 PM
Cool concept
04/24/2002 02:07:00 PM
Nice idea! Have you tried doing this one as a portrait format so that you don't have quite as much dark on either side?
04/24/2002 01:36:00 PM
I'd have cropped the bottom of this shot slightly, so that the step was out of sight, giving a clearer shade/sunlight transition (as well as the gateway transition).

Nicely framed, but perhaps using portrait rather than landscape would fill the frame better.
04/23/2002 08:24:00 AM
some may consider this to be a transition clique but i LIKE it! pulls me right in

Beautiful garden. Definetly centers my focal vision.
04/22/2002 09:06:00 PM
I like your transition idea here.. I feel a little 'squeezed by the bush entrance to this garden though...
04/22/2002 08:35:00 PM
no, not a transition in my mind...luckily that won't hurt the score too much
04/22/2002 08:04:00 PM
Lovely.
04/22/2002 07:06:00 PM
Very nice idea ...
04/22/2002 01:47:00 PM
Beautiful composition
04/22/2002 12:56:00 PM
and onto a different subject...whats the transition?
04/22/2002 12:31:00 PM
what a beautiful place.. I'd love to transition into that garden anytime.
04/22/2002 12:12:00 PM
I think this photo would have been better as a vertical image rather than a horizontal. Nice shot though!
04/22/2002 11:32:00 AM
Very beautiful!!!
04/22/2002 11:01:00 AM
I also like how you didnt shoot it straight on and have the path canted off to the left with the horixon level.
04/22/2002 10:09:00 AM
too much dark hedge here for my liking
04/22/2002 07:52:00 AM
Nicely framed. The sun shining in the garden and not on the bushes outside of the garden is a nice touch.
04/22/2002 07:42:00 AM
cool interpretation. Like the light/dark contrast.
04/22/2002 07:33:00 AM
Almost like the Wizard of Oz...... changing from very dark to bright colors. The only thing I might change would be a tighter crop.
04/23/2002 03:45:00 PM
Nice colors through the passageway. I wonder if it would have been better suited for a vertically oriented photograph with the entry way taking up just a bit more of the picture.
04/23/2002 01:52:00 PM
nice colourful shot
04/22/2002 02:25:00 AM
Would like to see it cropped on the sides.
04/22/2002 12:29:00 AM
I REALLY like this capture. Great idea and the framing of shrubs just sets the thing off ! I do wish there was something on this side to show a real transition but no clue how that could be done any better. The view is beautiful:)
