Love the red. It speaks volumns

Extremely sensual shot. The desat is very powerful but I think the crop may be too tight. Or maybe it's just a natural male response to want to see more of the exposed left breast. Whatever, it's a GREAT shot. Should do well.

Setzler Comment:

Some general ratings (1-10): These are some elements that I look for in great photographs, in no specific order…

Visual Appeal: 8
Subject Appeal: 9
Compositional Appeal: 8
Effective use of color/bw: 8
Creativity: 10
Theme/Storytelling qualities: 10
Title: 7

Additional Comments:

This is one of the better and more effective uses of selective desaturation that I have seen recently. The nice light and the softness add quite a bit to the storyline in this photo... excellent work...

The title and photo work well together. This shoot definately makes the viewer think "passion". 10

Nice! Should place in the top 10.
A little more 'exposure' might have helped ;-)

Awesome photo! I like the pose. The black & white photo with the dress in red is a good effect!

Beautiful and sensous image. My only nit-pick is overly obvious postprocessing (blurring and sharpening?) on the hair and the hands on the left.

great selective desaturation technique; sensual and erotic and tastefuly done

This is good shot. Its got a bit of noise on the bottom of the photo, so I was curious and pulled it up and used neat image on it only removing half the noise and man what a difference it made on the red....9

nice use of selective desaturation here. It borders a little too much on eroticism for *my* tastes, but that doesn't really compromise the quality of the photo.

By far the best and most erotic of all the nude submissions. You cropped this perfectly and the aprtial desat is a great choice. Nice skin tone and smoothness on the female's body. I think you have the blue ribbon submission.

I like your decision to crop the photo where you did. Some others in the challenge made me feel a little intrusive and a little uncomfortable by making me a voyeur of sorts, but you did a great job of capuring a sensual moment but keeping it intimate between the two subjects (and not including me). The desaturation is PERFECT for this photo.

a very good use of selective desat! and very passionate despite the fact that we can't see either person's face. Maybe its that aspect that gives it a more "personal" feel because it could be the viewer.

yes, this works really well, the hands, the red dress, the B&W, the cropping, it all fits very well together in my opinion.

man I hate to see good shots go to waste due to selective saturation. I can't see why people us it - but many do and many like it so i guess I am the odd one out.

A nice shot with a tender if not almost to tender moment.

A little bit too much personal for my taste on a family site ;D But it does it's job of being erotic yet tasteful.

A valiant effort - i guess just outsdie the top 10 - say 12th?

This is perfect- I hope this wins. I love the desaturation. The expression is perfect and it's awesome that you cant see her whole face. Plus, adding the other hands makes it even better. GREAT job! 10

Nice composition and concept. Too much touchup on the skin. You can't stamp out all of the texture because then it just looks plastic.

08/23/2004 10:25:23 PM
This is fantstically erotic and the desaturation adds to it, Two things bother me, the mans left hand is a bit too manicured and looks feminine because of the lighting elements. and there is one to many hands in the picture- three would bee enough.

I hope you do well in this challenge

Very nice - this is really great. Perfect composition - I think my favorite thing about this is all of the interest in different locations - the undressing hands on the one side, the fondling hands on the other, the throat stretching out of frame at the top, what is about to be revealed in the middle, and the great color in the dress at the bottom.

If I dare to offer a suggestion, I don't quite like the shade of red in the border - I think it should be a shade or two darker, matching more of the mid-tones in the dress.

Yummy. Very nicely cupped. ; ) Aesthetic hands too.

Your desat works well here except the tiniest piece on unmasked area at the far right, bottom. Well, I've got to find something to criticise!

beutifulll picture and model and fitting title.
Too many hands are bit descracting.
Think it would been better with only the models hand takeing off the dress.
The desaturation works very well with the red dress.
