From the same session as my Storm Front entry. Another last minute idea, as she brought a ton of wardrobe, including these awesome shoes. I apparently have a thing about red shoes... And tulle...

Several comments about all the color. I tried a version where everything but the shoes was significantly desaturated, and although it was good, it just didn't "zing" for me. Oddly, for me, the red pops more in the riotous colors than in the muted version. I'm sure the score is taking a hit for this reason, but I prefer this version.

I'm SO happy that some people noticed the shadow on the ground. In retrospect, I should have emphasized that more. Thanks for the wonderful comments and votes.

love that orange wrap! and JSR is right -- the colors really don't go together -- yet the work so well in the photo! How bizarre...

I love all of this... wellll... except, I'd have dimmed that left light on the wall... and blurred it a bit.

Still... I love this. It's so... you! :D

ETA: If you take your hand (as I did) and block out that whole light on the wall... it changes the entire mood of the image.

She is a great model and I love this shot! Did you carry your lighting with you? How did you light her? Btw, I would have tried to avoid using such a wide angle lens for this. It has distorted her right foot a bit too much.

The orange vs blue contrast really makes this pop. So much movement in the composition- works beautifully.

It's a very good photo, but my eyes are drawn more to the model's face and the orange wrap than to the red shoes. The shadow on the floor is excellent.

Excellent color-play and lighting. The tattoo could be brought out a bit to keep the eye going back up from the bottom shoe. Bottom shoe clearly supported by the background whereas the bench is absorbing the light from the top shoe.

This has the all the hallmarks of a certain top notch photographer- my guess is this is Johanna:-) at work and if not please take that as a compliment. Lighting on the model's face and body is absolutely wonderful. The colors are bold and vibrant. That is the photo's strength...and weakness. The title being the red shoes - it should be that the shoes call our attention and hold most of our attention. The red shoes are rich and deep in scarlet color. However they get lost and have to compete with the vivid cobalt blue of the dress and the flaming orange of the shawl.

Love the look of the scarf, almost like it has movement.

I am not like a fashion buff, but I can tell you that those colors don't go together normally, but for what ever reason it works well in this photo and I like it. Well done!!! 10

She has the most gorgeous clothing on, esp the scarf. Nice work.

nice shot but the main feature is the orange scarf stealing all the glory from the red shoes

It may be Johanna but the tattoo on the leg makes it uncertain. Nice colors
