sorry grigrigirl its a great photo indeed but somehow it has a sterile quality..too posed maybe,too academicly photographed.the other nudes in your portfolio are far more better some are exquisite. congratulations on your ribbon but my first place choice would have been different in this challenge.
actually...i rather agree. This is the only time Ive posed someone. In her case..she was not willing to lounge around nude and let me have my way with the camera. So..this one pose was it. Otherwise, I had no nude that week.

When I judged all of the images submitted for the Nude II challenge, this submission stood out far and above the rest. It was my pick for the challenge. Terrific work, I am happy for you that everyone else saw its creative value too. You have a great eye for lighting and composition.
I didn't have this down as yours Julia - but it's lovely (as usual) and well done on your blue - which I can hardly believe is your first (but almost certainly not the last)!!
Congratulations! this blue is much more than deserved! Seeing shoots like yours makes me want to be your model instead being behind my camera! everything seems to be just... BEAUTIFUL.
The position of her right arm bothered me too. I wanted it higher. The poor girl was in pain as I yelled out to her to bend her leg and point her toe and arch your back more and move that hand etc etc etc. She has never posed before and was not extremely comfortable with the idea of nudity. My thanks to her for having such a flexible back and putting up with me and for her willingness to bare it all for this one shot. I will now process the other 200 clothed shots as promised. :)
Great job on the lighting and I love the choice of B&W. Perfect amount of negative space. Kudos to you and your model! (if this is a self portrait like the one I entered, then double kudos)

This is a most fantastic shot. I love the soft feel to it, the pose, everything. THere are some strong contenders in this challenge but I would find it difficult to believe if this did not ribbon! Good luck! 10
excellent pose realyl do think the arm by the head should be somwhere else, sorry I am not explaining too well, but just feel that arm intereferes with the rest of the pose, overall I like it well done!
what a wonderful photo! The only thing which disturbs me that her left arm is repeating the form of her face and makes the composition a bit strange. imho just a relaxed arm next to her haed would have benn nicer. Else, the lighting is great, the bw tone are good too. Good luck, hope to see you on the front page next week.

Excellent Print. The use of empty space adds to the dramatics of this shot. Great Lighting. I would have minimized the visible arm pit a little, but thats just being picky. A 10!
wow, that's lovely. my first 10 of the lot. She is shaped like a classic sculpture, and what brilliant lighting. I couldn't offer one word of improvement.
Wonderful photo, artistically and technically excellent. The lighting is near perfect, the toning is great and the nudity becomes art instead of just nudity. My favourite photo for this challenge.
Wow .. I dont think there is anything you cuold improve in this .. the tones are perfect, lighting is perfect, the pose of the model .. if I could give this more than 10 I would.
This is WOW breathtaking .. The smoke-like background is just great, I love the dark shadows, lighting is very dramatic. Model is equally as awesome, and I love how her toes look like they're lightly touching the floor .. its like she's about to start levitating :D I think you'll get a ribbon.
Excelent lighting, beutifull model, works well as black and white.
Will have to look the title up in a book though.

Superb use of lighting to really define the shape of her body and great use of lots of black negative space to really make the highlights sing out. The pose works very well indeed.
A very classy shot of a classic pose. Well executed. Beautiful model and pose. Nice lighting. Burning areas are a bit too visible for me, but that's just my personal taste. Great shot! 8
Possibly the standout shot of the challenge. A very professional look and feel. The model's pose is striking, as is the lighting. A thoroughly outstanding shot in every respect. My prediction is a bluey.
A very nice print - the tonal range is excellent. Nice lighting - great pose. Not sure about all the negative space at the top - think you could crop about half of it - making the image even stronger. Overall - an excellent entry.
Probably the best model out of all of them which really helps. Doesn't matter how good your photo is, if your model isn't all that then the photo will suffer.
Her pose seems very professional, as if she knows what she is doing. Her feel are nicely arched as is her back and neck. She seems to have perfect tension running through her muscles which is something a lot of shots fail to capture - resulting in lots of loose flabby skin.
The lighting I am not 100% keen on, but comparatively it's great. I can't make my mind up if i like the highlights in the background or not.
awesome. i'm looking at this from an old laptop 'cause my computer is currently down, but even from this crappy screen i can say this is just fabulous. the lighting is gorgeous, composition, pose...everything works perfectly. very nicely done. 10
Simply stuning! A favorite of the challenge on many levels. Your croping Right to left centers the model perfectly. What appears to be a light source at each end of the model cast just the right kind of light and shadow. the image is crisp, clean and sharp as a tac. I know I am doing well this challenge. Yours will be tough to beat:) Congrats...Ten!!
