My wife - Nic.

Deliberately soft - shot at f/1.2 with a misting of water sprayed onto the glass (I was really surprised just how much diffusion this introduced).

I'm in the garden, Nic is in my parent's dining room with a single modelling light to her lower right. She was a trooper - full of cold.

I think it takes time to fall well with eye and brain, I hope I don't get too many drive-by votes.

After fully exploring the images I captured, I should've entered this one instead:

I very much liked this shot, I prefer it to your outtake, I think you made the right choice. Lovely, soft and feminine, she looked to me like she had tears in her eyes which made it emotional too. Good work.

Such a nice image. Having seen your outtake, I am uncertain whether there is a clear winner. Both have their merits and both are wonderful portraits.

I think this is a beautiful portrait; I especially like the softness from the glass and the light. However, my eye keeps jumping to the white line on the side which is very distracting. (voted earlier)

Nice expression and colours rendition. I like the refraction, the tension in her lips and the almost inquisitive gaze in her eyes. 8

I like the thought of putting something in between the photographer and the subject, maybe a symbolic gesture, perhaps a meaningful point I can't figure out yet.

Top ten shot. Having said that I,m not sure the window pane adds anything.

I very much like the softness the window gives. I'm not sure how I feel about the white being so bright.

I like the approach however I may have gone vertical and used the white as natural framing. As it is now the white line to the left of the subject keeps taking my attention.
