Thank you so much for the votes and comments.
I'm not sure what happened here with the banding but it's definitely in the original file (which is still being reviewed, by the way). In this case it worked to give me a desired effect but I guess I should try and figure out what caused it (low light, small f-stop, underexposed). The circle is somewhat of a mystery as well
but is also clearly visible in the original.

Post challenge. A Ph Blue and a Silver Sturgeon! Wow!
I only wish the score had held up there the way it was before it was requested for proof on Thursday or that I had gotten a stamp of approval before rollover. I will continue to check the site frequently until the verdict is made.

Wonderful indeed, and such a creative use of lens flare, I have never seen a circular one as this before.

Penny, this is stone killer! I was one of your 9's, and I'm stunned to see this didn't make top-10 :-( Still, fine score and a Posthumous blue as well :-)

When all the mysteries of photography and light collide to create magic, you get this. One of my alltime favorites on DPC, Penny. Just brilliant.

The circle is lens flare and the texture is from the underexposure, and this is magnificent! It was my top pick for this challenge. AND a 6+ AND a PH Blue. It really doesn't get any better than this! Congrats! (And 9.0 as a commenter average. I think you can safely retire now.) :-)

Wonderful image! Well done on the high score, although, like Deb I expected a score this high to be much higher up than 29 place. Check out that commenter's score too!
