Challenge: Where's Waldo? V (Basic Editing)
Camera: Canon EOS-30D
Lens: Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
Date: Sep 10, 2011
Date Uploaded: Sep 10, 2011

My entering is so hit and miss lately. Signed up for a WPL team and I have been a complete slacker. Thats what happens when life gets busy. This challenge came up and I thought I could probably pull off something quick and easy. We have these corn fields in our neighborhood. I had first thought of shooting both kids and calling it children of the corn. But on the way to the supermarket I decided to give it a go with just Aidan (Rowan wasn't dressed right). It was early morning sun and the camera was having a hard time focusing with the glare. Took all of four shots and was going to see if the idea worked considering that I might have to go out and shoot it again. But when I got home and did a quick edit I realized that I didn't have to. I think it came out really well. Doubt it will score high, but I am enjoying the image and I will have at least one entry for the WPL. My score estimate is a 5.7. Maybe I can at least beat out Melethia as we are up against her team this week.

Congrats! This is my favorite in this challenge. He's well hidden without being tiny and once you spot him (took me a while), it feels like a big revelation.

This was the first one to come up for my vote. What a hard act to follow! I initially gave you 9, but I've come back to give you my only 10. There are plenty of lovely pictures (aren't there always?) and entries where Waldo is so hard to find that it hurts my eyes trying. There are entries where Waldo is barely, or not, hidden at all, or simply of miniscule size. Then there is this. I think that you have absolutely nailed the challenge, and the photo is esthetically pleasing as well. Great job.

Im embarrassed how long it took my to find him. Lovely exposure and nice B&W conversion, ought to be in ribbon country.

I swear. If ever I pass your kids on the streets I'll be like "oh hello!" and they'll probably call the cops cause they don't know me.
Nice flare image.

Excellent how his shirt and arm resemble corn leafs. Is that Mr Toole jr. ?
Nitpick would be the letterbox border which doesn't fit here too well.
