Thanks for the reply EK. It's always nice to know the limits or characteristics of a lens if it ever gets on my buying list. I meant "not a single" rather than "not a signal" DOH :)
I love my 12-24mm Tokina f/4.0 but yet to give it a cityscape workout. Have only done seascapes with it thus far. No one asked if you can open your office window or did you have your outside window cleaner do you a favour? ;p
It is a good lens but I dont think it is worth the money. A friend has the 2.8 equivalent and the images are amazing. Sadly there is no way I can afford such a lens except in my dreams. My 12-24 is okay if you keep it parallel to the subject otherwise the distortion goes wild. This was shot with the lens pressed flat against the glass so it was easy to avoid tilt distortion. Lol the windows were for the most part not too bad but I did have to move around to find a relatively cleanish spot. Those windows don't open luckily and I would be too scared of falling out to do so even if they did
I thought it was a bit oversharpened, but really lovely. Congrats on your ribbon!
Thanks Lydia. I struggle like hell with sharpening and in general think my entries are not quite sharp enough after I upload them so I did a more aggressive sharpen on this one. Hopefully I can crack the sharpening code one day.

Stunner. That Nikkor 12-24 has no pincushion effect? Or was it straightened in PP? Either way fabulous image. Not a signal red tail light, just white headlights.
Thanks Harvey. I used the lens correction tool in Lightroom. I was surprised the car lights disappeared, but guess they didnt register on the 12 minute exposure

Of course there's 1,2,3 scores. That's what happens when people are allowed to vote in contests they're entered in. Obviously this is a great shot. The 1,2,3 scores are from a-holes trying to make the average better. It happens to all of us unfortunately.
Yep, sad but true. Would be nice if to have a vote of 1, 2 count, a voter would need to explain why s/he thinks it is so bad

Terrific image. Well deserved blue ribbon.
Glad I recently visited HK and managed to join you in the ribbons.
I'd work late if I had a view like that too!
Wonderful title to a crisp picture. Very nicely captured. Love all the blue/purple/green hues on the buildings in complete contrast to the roads. Nicely balanced as well. Very well done.
