I was going for the private eye look.

I must say that this was both a very enjoyable setup AND the worst time I've had doing photography. I am not a smoker, but i needed a smoking butt to get the look and feel. I stunk up my whole house for this shot, so it better rock the vote! ;-)

Nice set up a little to clean would have liked to see the smoke drifting through the image

Superb. Excellently executed. It even has the smoke streaks.

This is one of the better shots in the challenge. Great composition, lighting and props (attention to detail). Had a similar idea glad I did not do it because you executed superbly! Well done!

I'm telling you: it was not Al Bino who did it. It was Kerry Oki!
Nice set up, great lighting. Maybe a burning cigarette in the ash trey would have completed it even more, but that's a detail.

Edit: only now that mefnjhas drawn my attention to it I saw the smoke rising up.
I was so focused on all the other elements/details in this photograph, ashtray included, that I didn't notice the smoke.
I'm so so sorry mefjn.

Different take in a way. But it works in that I like the lighting, the shadows, and the props.
