It's really nice when you get comments from photographers you admire. The fact that they're positive is just all the better.

I liked the motion in this guy, didn't like the cluttered base (fence or something, cannot even remember as this is uncropped straight from camera), and didn't particularly like the color of the blossoms (almond tree, pinkish) against the blue sky.

But I liked the contrast and the movement and the starkness of it, and saw some promise in it if treated with a dose of B&W. I really like it.

The B&W really does work for this image, I have to agree about not having anything at the base but it still has a interesting feel and the BW conversion was nicely done.
