Great shot, Nick, signature nixter. something utterly weightless about this lonely figure.

 HAD I the heavens̢۪ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

This is masterful. Low key, lines, shadows, mystery, and a bit of investigation required to determine what is happening. 10 because there is no 11

I think I need to bump this. I love how he's situated in the frame -- between those two long shadows of the bridge.

Interesting choice of darkness. Regarding the centered composition - I am wondering why the large amount of negative space?

 I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: Great exposure / light here - the contrast of the figure against the dark water is wonderful. I also like that despite the water being dark, it is still showing the shadow of the bridge. I like the bridge itself too - especially the rivets in the top left corner.

Critical stuff: Nothing much at all.

Overall: Great image. |

Is he jumping off the bridge into the water? Hard to tell for sure. Making me look harder is worth some extra pointage.
