I thought about going back to the lakefront for the water/earth elements, but I was not sure what to do for the fire. Then, my wife mentioned that she should probably take down the Christmas wreaths from the living room. Have you seen dried up evergreen burn? So, Saturday morning I headed to the lake at about 6:30am with the temperature at about 9 degrees (F). I was hoping for a little color for the sunrise, but all was gray. Unfortunately, it was snowing but I was committed. I think the finished product was pretty dramatic, but it could still use some clean up.

What a great optical illusion. Either that's the world's largest bonfire, or the world's tiniest ice cliff. Beautiful.

Really like the ice on this picture...the structure and texture are so interesting! Unfortunately looks a little underexposed, so some of the detail is lost? White balance also seems a little off?
