The comments so far have been wonderful! Thank you very much! The score has been as high as 7.3 and as low as 6.8. Currently it's at 6.9412 and 102 votes. We'll see where this ends up, but I'm hoping it's Top 10 or Top 20. That will crush my Best of 2009 from last year, where I was in the bottom 9% :P

As for the title, tkaranto is the most likely Mohawk word from which the city of Toronto derives its name. It means "place where trees stand in the water".

Thanks every for all the great comments! This was the last Toronto skyline shot from the roof of my condo building before I moved to Aurora. Love the view from up there. I've taken many pictures from that vantage point, trying to make each different and unique (as you will see from the several TO skyline shots my profile). This is one of my favorite angles however, because it makes me feel like I'm hanging my head out the window, looking out over the city trying to get a better view :) Really happy with the Top 10 finish!

With a highly photographed city, it's hard to put a personal spin on it. But you did just that, and did it well.

Nice use of tilt. I'll be interested to know more about the title.

A nice monochrome night shot. I don't get the reason or meaning of tilt, though.

I don't like city skyline at night pictures, but this one is a splendid exception. Just enough of everything, not too much of anything. And the bold tilt outweighs the by now tiresome frame as well. On my imaginary 2010 wall for sure. Thank you.

Excellently exposed and fabulous details of the city. Love the angle presented for I get the feel I am in a helicopter swooping through the city. Love the slight golden tones applied to the B&W - bathes the city in a magical warm glow. Fantastic work.

Love the Goth feel, odd POV. Through the eyes of Spidey swinging from building to building. I'm not going to mention the typo because everyone else has, no wait I did!

beautiful tones...I don't usually like skewed images, but this one works great...you need to mind your spelling but you probably already know that
