I actually love the overlay on the right, but wish it were far less obvious beyond the people. What an exquisite shot, regardless. The people really add a sense of scale.

Cool shot, love how small all the people look.

I'm not a big fan of the overlay here and wonder weather the scene really needs it. I agree with idp that it's a bit distracting, but just the overlay. I love the scene and the rays in the background. A beautiful shot. I'm just thinking it may stand on it's own fairly well.

Maybe I'm just perverse but I find this picture disconcerting, quite uncomfortable. I don't feel whimsy at all, it's more like a still from a beach version of Twin Peaks. I think it has something to do with the slanting rays of sunlight and the pattern of the raindrops. The people look like thay are going to walk for ever.

I like the stark contrast between the horizon and the sky. It gives a calming effect to the upper half of the image. The overlay IMHO adds to the business of the breaking waves and the movement created by the people walking along the beach.

I do agree that the overlay has added a great sense of whimsy, but I only say that about the lighter spots. The darker area on the left takes me out of that dreamy whimsical state and I say, "Ah, overlay". It takes the dimension out of the photo and flattens it, because the spots don't follow the curvature of the landscape. There's waves coming in, why would there be texture in the waves like that?

The right 1/4 of the photo is incredible with the texture, but I think the left could use some fuzzy erasering to incorporate it better.

I like the light effect on the water and the leading line of the beach.

LOVE this! Is that an overlay for the bokeh spots or were you shooting through something? Awesome effect. I like the rays angling in on the horizon, and the composition is excellent!

Very pretty shot of the beach. Love the BW conversion. The sun spots add a definate artistic component to the overall composition of this shot.

Great wide angle shot, the b&w complements it well, and the rays of light and the people add more to the picture.

This has so much to love - the vastness of the scene with the tiny people, the ripples, the rays of light, the bokeh, and all of it.
