Your macro work is absolutely amazing. I love the detail on the face - looks somewhat like a grumpy but loveable old man... not the sort of description I would normally apply to a butterfly... hmmm, ever thought of writing a children's story - this could be the inspiration..

Too cold here for Macro, so thanks for letting me enjoy looking at yours! Wonderfully thin DOF and good placement.

Butterflies sometimes gather on wet sand to drink. This is a very cool looking close up, with the sand grains to add interest and color.

Although I realise that butterflies have compound eyes, I can't help thinking that this moth has distinctly deranged pupils, giving it a demented look seldom seen in the insect world. The slanted crop helps. Very nice.

great the way his head and eyes etc are highlighted against the white of his legs, body and wings and his proboscis is so focused .. its an excellent shot .. :)

I'm a shallow DOF kind of gal, so you had me at 2.8. What's great about super shallow DOF is the shapes that are created. I'm drawn to the wings here. They look so soft, structured, and sturdy, but we all know how fragile they really are. Cute tongue too!

I like the perspective. I think just a touch more DOF (to get the eyes in focus) would make it even better.

Very cool! Love how the one antenna looks like a bunch of ever larger dots.

Perfect DOF and sharpness, somehow leaves the rest to the imagination.

Oh, that's beautiful, Greg. I love the dof, and that moth has a very funny expression.
