These are novelty chicks which have been dyed this colour. Either the chick's egg has been injected with dye or the chick itself has been dipped in dye.

The little chick is now white and fluffy with only a few green feathers so the colour didn't seem to have a detrimental affect on them.

My intentions were to take a picture of the orange one, yes there's an orange one too :) and put it in the orange challenge. Unfortunately my battery died the moment I clicked.. But I did rather like these fellows so I couldn't resist putting one in for the free study.

That's adorable!! Add a shamrock and this little guy can be a St. Patrick's Day holiday chicken LOL!

I love the lighting, but even the darkness isn't enough to take away from the cute factor. Makes for an interesting contrast in moods depending on where I look.

What an unusual color. And gotta love those freakishly large feet. A touch melancholy. I like it.

Wow! I think you have shed light one one of mankind's oldest proverbial questions..... Which came first? The Chicken, or Green Eggs and Ham!

I love the processing that was done on this. I am very curious what the steps were.
I would have liked to see a more eye level angle, rather than looking down. Great colors and sharpness here though. 8

Very cool! The color of this bird is fantastic, and the close crop is spot on.
