 Confession, the blur is done in PS. I feel that this is somehow cheating, because all the blurry shots I have entered into challenges have been done in camera. However I like the effect of erasing the blur in some places. And this is a side challenge where playing with layers is encouraged, right? So I shouldn't feel like it's cheating :)

I know how you feel about the Post vs in camera, but as long as you know you can get it right in the camera, I feel you have the license to play to your hearts delight.

regarding your comment, i think this is a great use of the tools in photoshop. the artistic side of you exploring more deeply with each portion of the image.

I saw Big Ben first and this is just as good, painterly (scifi gothic, indeed)... and it's not cheating :)

cheat all you want - this is fantastic !!!! Agree with jminso, ghostly- all it needs is a figure running in a flowing white dress-amen :)

Heh, who says it's a cheat?? In my mind, the means justify the end. I really like this. "Alice in Wonderland" is what I thought of. I can see the Mad Hatter appearing, or the rabbit scurrying about, trying to make sense of it all.

You're going to have to explain how you do blur then erase it in some places, as it looks like vertical camera movement somehow. Lovely!!
