Not a clue how this will do.

But, hey! That rhymed.

OMG - I just realized this is my 100th challenge!!

[Dec. 1st, 2010 04:15:16 PM]

Several people have pointed out the slight tilt of the image. It was not originally my intent to have it, and I tried to straighten it during editing (this is about a 75% crop), but found that straightening it removed something intangible from it as well. So it stayed.

This was SUCH an awesome challenge to enter. I'm honored to have place this high amidst such outstanding images. THANK YOU Don for the "gif", and all yous peeps for the nice words and votes.

I get what you're saying, but I feel like this image transubstantiates her clothes into feathers.

When I first saw this image...immediately a dazzling array of lines, shadows, and polygonal shapes struck me with full force. Upon further contemplation, the textures and tonality bring out an artistically arranged image and I very much like the tilt! My only nattering naybob nitpick is actually the person's clothes which (to my eye) undermines the classy aspect of this image. Well, that's my two cents...congrats on Top 10, Johanna!

Congratulations Johanna..
I really really loved this, and as for the tilt, well I thought it was meant to be that way, only added to the effect for me!!

I love the POV and light on this. The details could be cleaner seem a bit splotchy but in this challenge it shouldn't hurt your score much. 7

The idea behind the Posthumous Ribbon is to encourage you to break the rules, to find new and different ways to express yourself. To free your mind to think clearly toward the solution that is certain to come, to laugh at world and at life, not doing what others are expecting you to do, but just following and listening to what's in your heart. DPC it’s a wonderful learning place where everyone should be supported on their way to be a photographer. A special attention should be aimed to those working hard with different views and approaches to photography, those not aligned with the mainstream taste and receiving no recognition. It’s our responsibility to support these photographers creating diversity and expressing different visions. Being active at the Posthumous thread it’s the best way to do it. Being active at the Posthumous thread it’s the best way to protect your and the other’s freedom of being different. Thanks for taking the time to enter this challenge. Stay wild.

nicely composed, light is great, good angles. This composition is really growing on me. The skewed angle of the camera creates a rotation energy that works against the strong radiating lines of light. texture's great, too.

I'm hanging this in the posthumous art gallery.

Such beautiful lines, obscured and ennobled by the progress of woman.

Wonderful composition and well spotted scene. Intersecting lines and angles between the floor and the rays are great. Nice one.

This gets better with each look. Love the processing (not quite black and white?) and perfect light streaming in. 8

perfect for this challenge, absolutely following the "posthumous" cliché. wish you had spent a bit more time thinking about cropping and rotating , I find the tilt and the aspect ratio to be unpleasant. Yet one of the better entries

Just absolutely beautiful.

Edited to add: I keep coming back to this. The use of leading diagonal lines is a powerful tool and you have used it to great advantage.

Neat use of geometry and light here. The slight tilt of the scene adds to it in this case.

I like the perspective from above, that and the tone all work well.

Nice-nasty resolution and tones. Good shot for a phone camera, but even better if you used a Canon 5D Mk II. Anyway, I like it. Thank you.

The geometry is good, but the tilt adds a bit of needed kick to keep the eye from becoming too relaxed. Good choice there. I like the textures and shadows too.

Great shot. Like it a lot. Great choice to go with b/w. The 'negative' space which is not really negative does a lot for the image. The intersecting sun rays puts the dot over the i. 8
