 This is my Dad when he was in the navy during WW2 and his flag that he was awarded when he passed away. He was always a hero in my mind but of now that I am older I realize how much of a hero he really was. He wanted to join the navy so bad that he grew a mustache to look older and was sent home because he bit his nails. He immediately stopped biting his nails and joined up a month later.
