Challenge: Fairy Tales III (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: Canon PowerShot S2 IS
Location: Falls Creek Retreat Center, Washington
Date: Sep 25, 2010
Galleries: Emotive, Black and White
Date Uploaded: Sep 26, 2010

Photo taken after clearing a circle of fall leaves and encircling the cleared area with yellow maple leaves. My wife stood in the center. Converted to b/w, bumped the contrast, and added a glow feel to the PP to make it dreamy as though on the edge of entering the faerie world through this portal. Inspired by the faerie tale writings of George MacDonald, including such marvelous tales as The Golden Key. Thanks for the comments, favs and votes. Cheers!

I like that you went all the way. The scene is dark and intriguing - as a good fairy tale should be.

Outstanding - evrything works here - the blur or grain or whatever - the dark patch at the top (although scrolling up and down it seems to me that there is an even better picture here with the top sectyion cropped out) even the post on the left which i amsure soeone will say is distracting seems to me to work - i seem to be able to see a long narrow triangle with its point at the post which encloses the man and the circle - 10

I really, really like this. Even before reading the title, I knew what I was looking at. You've managed to capture the element of human isolation and the feeling of power radiating within the circle. Well done, and very creative.

Or alien abduction launch pad... Phenomenal! He's like a hot pixel in a sea of conformist pixels, or a beacon, calling to others who like him, dare walk upright rather than grovel with the masses. Ubique?

Dang. Just brilliant.

I'm only early into voting and have seen some fun shots. this is not one of them. This is, well, something special! No, special does not explain how this makes me feel. This goes beyong just a challenge entry but into the realm of pure art. This gets a 10, a Fav, and a thanks for giving me something wonderful to look at.

I have no idea what this is (IR maybe?), but I love it. Great original, emotional interpretation.
