Taken from the saddle of Humphrey's Peak. I wanted the sign at the top that showed the altitude, but someone must have stole it because it wasn't there. This is almost 12,000 feet above sea level.
cropped, sharpened, raised the contrast, and neat imaged.

Great photo here. Reminds me of a mini-vacation I spent in Flagstaff a few years back. What a great place to visit, especially during the warm summer months!

Well captured scene.

The saddle is at 11,700 feet, IIRC. Last time I was there, at this very spot, I had the worst AMS I've ever had, and saw the highest altitude helicopter evacuation I've ever personally witnessed (okay, sample of three, but even so, it was a nailbiter.) Oh, and on the way down the remnants of hurrican Xaiver rolled through.

Yeah, that sign brings back some memories.

That being said, I didn't find the mountain itself especially photogenic, so I think you were wise to focus on the sign and the clouds. The harsh mid-day sun at these high altitudes lends itself to excessive contrast, as seen in the edges of the sign, but overall you've done a wonderful job of composing to limit this effect.

Oooh. Another Arizonan. Well, I guess I'm not technically an Arizonan anymore. But I spent many years hiking those trails in Flagstaff. This is a great shot. I really like the great depth of the landscape combined with the closeness and clarity of the sign. Nice work.

Love the fluffy clouds. I had to laugh at the sign warning you of a $500 fine for going off the trail. Does this mean they actually have someone there keeping watch so they can give you a fine??? Seriously, too many people do go off the trail and damage the place over time, or hurt themselves.

What a glorious view! Perfect clouds. The light of the signs and the detail of the wood grain is good as well as focus, and still the landscape in the background is well lit and clear too. Nice job. I would like to see where the sign attached to the ground - as is it feels like it is oddly floating.

Excellent! Great composition. Good framing, rule of thirds and level horizon. Very interesting, four things to look at, the sign, the flatlands, clouds and forested mountains. Good job.

I like the angle of the shot, mixing the square angles of the wooden signes against the rounded clouds. Excellent shot!

The colors of the sky here are lovely, as well as the serene landscape below. Wish the signs were a bit easier to read, but nonetheless, nice job!

Great clouds! and good work on balancing the shadows and highlights here. Perhaps a fill flash to bring out the textured sign a little would have been nice.
