::BEAMS at DPC::

Oh my!!!! Thank you to all the voters and especially the commentors (Star Trek Fans...you never let me down!)

Okay...everyone turn your iPad upside down...Voila! A crystal ball sitting on the edge of a cliff with a refraction image of the mountains! (I know...I know...not very original, but still tons of fun!)

Gosh...the only way to get rid of my own reflection in this image is to...lie down flat out on my belly on the edge of this cliff! So, I put a towel down to rest my camera on the rocks and lay down carefully along the ledge of this rocky cliff so my camera and I are actually slightly lower than the ball (the ledge tilts at an angle). YIKES...don't look down!

Waiting for the sun position to move so the star will look right in the globe...it's getting hot up here now as I'm lying in the dirt ::carefully looks around for ticks and bugs...ugh!::

At last, the sunstar beams at me through the globe and the shot is done! ( Gringo will be so proud of me that I finally listened to him and used a prop and also that I did not turn his beloved mountains...PURPLE! Hope he likes...BLUE...;-D...)

If I could take this ribbon and wrap it around my team mates with a BIG HUG to Capt. Bear Music, Penny, Jason, Jeb, Judi, Wendy, Robert, and Barbara...I would thank you all for inspiring me with your incredible hard work and dedication.

A special thank you to Ursula whose photography beams me to places I never thought anyone's imagination could boldly go...but brilliantly, hers always does!

Ah ha! So this is what happens when you wish upon a star...

Spectacular! As one who is deathly afraid of heights, and cliffs, you get all the more credit for braving them just to get this image. Absolutely beautiful.

Gorgeous capture. Love it! The hues are so pretty. And the star effect works well in this (normally I hate seeing them). Nicely done.

This pic really pops out. Unbelievably sharp in image in the globe. Love the star effect of the sun and the sun(?) at the 5 o'clock position on the edge of the globe. I wonder if this is mycelium; he had a cool image like this previously. definitely meets the challenge using a sphere and has a great image in it.

Inverting the shot may cause one to believe this is the eye at the base of a celestial being looking down on the ocean with the hills in the background. Either that or I have to cut down on my Sci Fi and alchohol intake! Great shot, should score well.

Is that a star trek title?

This shot's superb. Turning it upside down was a very nice idea. It totally gives the illusion of the sphere clinging to the sky.
Very nice indeed.
