This image is very "Seattle". I didn't recognize any of the buildings, but I knew in an instant during the challenge that this was Seattle. Judging by their walking shoes and instrument, these look like kids that set out on a musical voyage, which is pretty common up here in the NW.

Dorothea Lange only slightly morphed into the 21st century. Background, angle, shoes, violin, hint of pathos.

I love the "story" on this shot Brent. Congrats on the top 20.

This was one of my top four in the challenge. Something both poignant and unsettling about this picture... Very well done.

One of my favorites in the challenge. I loved the inclusion of other people in the shot as it emphasized the "being alone in a crowd" story.

I love this photo, I keep wondering what their story could be, and what they are up to now. Very few photos can attract your mind like that, congratulations Brent!

Very nicely framed. I'm on the fence about entries that have multiple people, but with this, one gets the feeling that it's all about the figure in the foreground. His companion helps tell his story but doesn't steal his fire.

emotional statement...your setting is so appropriate...if these two are not runaways it still is profound. a strong 9
