>>I also see traces of overshaprening around masts against the sky on the right. Maybe you can bring it down a notch there.<<

You know what, I was too busy admiring the other parts of the shot I didn't even notice that. With this type of shot, you almost don't even need any sharpening at all. In fact, I'd probably mask over the clouds to leave the sharpening which would help emphasize the grain a little more and remove all sharpening from the boats and water.

But as you can see, the consensus is unanimous on this one. :-)

yes this is the one. Great shot! Great toning, too! is there some blue color in the sky on the left or it is my imagination? If yes, I would get rid of it. I also see traces of overshaprening around masts against the sky on the right. Maybe you can bring it down a notch there.

Oh, and if anybody says it is tilted, smack 'em. The land is creating the tilted illusion.

YES YES YES. I love how the grain from the sky meets the hill. It almost looks like a rain storm passing over from the sun's rays. Stop the editing and submit!

Oh... lovely! Great idea to go with the square. It firmly makes this all about the boats... and uses the other stuff as extra 'goodies'.

This is my fave of the bunch.

Mentor/Schmentor You're wonderful.

Man, you don't need a mentor. All three of these are truly beautiful. The grain is well used here, and I suspect even the average DPCer might like it. I'm passing my favorite on to this grainy wonder.
