This would grab my attention and make me want to read the story. It raises questions about what, exactly is causing the pollution and what can we do to improve it. One of the things I find interesting is that the way you composed this, the shape and angle is suggestive of the planet earth. It's not what I'd consider a visually pleasing image but it is strong expose' impact.

Too much open water and slick to really make this a good shot. I don't disagree with the sentiment. |

The bit of color from the cars is a nice contrast in this image. muckpond |

would've liked to have seen the entirety of the cars, maybe could've tilted the camera just a little lower, gotten the cars, still gotten the swirl of the slick. i tell you you see things like this and it makes you wonder why everybody's not a green party member. i mean wake up, people, this could be anywhere. |

This is an awesome shot. Showing it from above really adds so much to the shot. I'm not sure what you did with the coloring but I would have liked it in full color so the oil spill would have shown up better for what it is. I like the subject matter, the focus, the execution, the centering. It's got soft focus. The coloring draws my eyes to the cars which are not the subject. The oil spill is the main focus of the shot. In color you would have been drawn to it. Still a good shot. PTL7 |

Yes, the picture telles a story, but I think that the lack of colour doesnt add interest or invite further inspection. I think that you could have cropped off the top and have more of the car s and bicycles in the shot, to make it more even. |

This is a case where I would have no idea what the shot was about unless I saw the title, but with it, I can see the photojournalism angle. I think I would have cropped out the area in the upper right corner - I find that a little distracting. lhall |

Good pic... I would have gotten in a little more of the cars just for an effect, but this works really well. |

Nice impact shot. Only thing I'd say is that the crop is poor. The bottom is not even and there is too much at the top. Over all this is a good on topic shot!! Jusitne |
