 It's my niece. I'm not generally a big fan of kid shots, since they usually only seem notable to the people who know the subject. So my title here is a comment on my uncertainty as to whether this shot is something more than that.

I think it works beyond the cute kid level. There is an intensity and uncertainty in her eyes that imply childhood is a scary venture into the unknown and not all happy-go-lucky.

The half eye doesn't work for me but you're right about him/her being a cute kid :) I would rather see both of those beautiful eyes.
