Lighting: good, but may be a bit harsh.
Pose: conveys the emotion well, but not sure it fits a portrait
Background: good.

Yes, he does look very worried. I wonder if this is a candid moment caught or posed? Very well done overall but the light seems a bit harsh, the shadow on his nose is a bit distracting and his lips look off for some reason, the color doesn't look quite right, almost too pink. The crop is well done though I would have liked to seen the whole chin to balance it out a bit more. A 5

This is not what I usually think of when I see the word portrait. His expression is rather disheartening and makes me wonder what stress is going on in his world. Your lighting looks to be a tad bit harsh. If some of your light came more from the side, this would soften it up a touch and help even out the skin tones.

Not your usual subject for a portrait, but you certainly convey the idea well enough.

Great focus and detail. Filling the frame is important in portraits, and you've certainly done that. The worried expression creates an emotive response in the viewer. :o)

This doesnt really portray a studio shot in my opinion. The crop is extremely tight. I would have zoomed out a bit, to include at the least, the rest of his head and probably his shoulders.

I think the crop here is too "in your face." There also appears to be a slight color cast.

Way too close.

Good expression and lighting. Unusual but effective composition.

I would've done some cloning and dodging on his face to get rid of some imperfections.

This looks more like a quick grab shot rather than a formal portrait. Perhaps it's cropped a little tight as well.

Nice close shot. A little less harsh lighting or diffusing it a bit would make this stand out more. Great focus.

You have made the same mistake that I have: Too tight crop.

More full-head would be more like a portrait.

what's bothering him? (an annoying parent with a camera?). Nice shot, but the crop is a bit to tight.

Great close up shot, good lighting and good natural expression. Well done.

Could be a bit more sharp, remove the white on the lower left and the mole on his forehead. I love your lighting and his expression. 8~
