Model looks a bit like Jim Morrison, with shorter hair. |

Classic High School shot. Nicely done but the lighting seems a bit dull, leaving the subject's skin a bit dull looking. I started at a 6 but am raising to an 8 for the classic style and pose. |

Classic pose, nice colors, very crisp. I might have turned his head just a bit, to avoid the deer in head lights look, but a very good picture overall. - 8 - . |

Awesome job of capturing a 'school picture' looking photograph! Nice catch light and nearly flawless (though a little dull) lighting! However, the pose is a little unimaganitive and I can't get a feel for his character. It doesn't tell me much about the subject. Does that make sense?

Lighting: The lighting is great.
Pose: Works well, but the stare is unsettling.
Background: well toned, but would be less distracting if more OOF. |

Great shot, love the way you captured the eyes, great background selection, contrasts well with the dark hair. Great lighting. |

I don't thnk your color scheme quite goes with your title (more blues than reds/browns to me), nor is it quite as low-key (a "dangerous" thing to try at DPC anyway), but I like it quite a lot the way you have it. |

It looks too frozen like my kids school portraits.7 |

This young man does have an air of the young Rembrant. It is a very simple honest portrait. It doesn't say much about the subject however - a bit of a year-book photo, but a good one as far as those go. |

Most helpful suggestion I can think of for this is that the pose is very traditional and that it is hard to generate a "wow" factor with a standard pose. This is a well done portrait that is up against some great ones. Best of luck. |

Very proffessional looking. The one thing that bugs me is his expression. Why no smile? 7 vote |

You have a great looking model in a very straight on formal portrait. Background does look studio-like. There's evidence of two light sources - but it's not a strong demo of Rembrandt. |

This reminds me of a school picture...a well-done school picture, mind you...lighting and pose are great, background is as well. None of my school pictures were ever in focus this well. :o) |

Great overall lighting. Seems a little flat though. Maybe boosting the color sat a touch too? |

Everythings great except maybe his eyes are open too much ... like he's about to be hit by a bus :) Great job, though. |

It's a traditional portrait. The problem with traditional portraits is that they lack intrest. |

Hmm, can't think of anything wrong with the pic. Maybe if you had a supermodel on it instead? hahah j/k. 8 |

a nice, old fashioned, traditionally taken, high quality portrait shot. techinically i would say this is without flaw, though i would add that the guys eyes seem a bit tense (guy needs to relax a bit) and also, does he know he looks like Shaggy from Scooby Doo? 10 |

Good. Subject could tilt or turn head so eyes are not so "staring-centered". |

not a lot of interest as your model is looking directly into the camera's lens
good luck though |

Background is too similar to the model's shirt...makes for a flat monotone portrait. The face is well lighted though. |

"..and I would have gotten away with it, too, if weren't for those meddlin' kids..."
Very highschool yearbook looking--not too imaginative--but it looks like you know how to light this kind of portrait. His stare is a bit fixed and unnatural looking--just like in a yearbook. |
