Blah Blah Blah
Went to the Zoo
Saw a Lion
Knew what to do

got my camera
zoomed right in
he turned away and said...
"When I Were King"

Post: WOW! I had no idea at all it would make the podium, it is an honor to ribbon in this FS many thanks to you all for the comments and votes and to Art for his wonderful poem.

Both Hanae and I have been out of action with the Flu so this is a great boost and I feel much better.

I'd really like to know who gave you those 2 1's and 2 2's...Unbelievable that anyone could give this a 2, let alone a 1!

I am no photo expert, but to me.. this photo should not have been marked anything less than a 9. I marked this photo as a 10. The color was perfect, the framing and capture plus clarity was so wonderful. This is one of those photos that make me want to say "Thank You" for sharing a wonderful photo for me to look at.

Congratulations on this photo. Being from South Africa myself I apprecite pictures such as this presenting these wild cats in any special way. The face, together with title tells the story of a much bigger scenario playing down here in Africa. It is very special seeing these animals in the wild and free in our parks and hope this can be the case for as long as possible. Also thanks for your compliments. Regards

Really interesting processing on this. Look almost hand-drawn or vector illustrated in some of the details.

I think you successfully anthropomorphised a lion unlike I have seen - the "expression" appears pensive and human.

Nice to look at for sure! Congrats.

Probably your best animal shot ever.. I am gonna get you banned from that damn zoo.

The detail and clarity in this shot is what sets it apart from a lot of your other animal shots, considering this was probably shot through glass, its incredible. Would look great as a large framed print.

Congrats on the red, Marac! Honestly, I don't like the processing at all, but it's still a deserved ribbon.

Wow!! Great portrait... and not just because it's clear and sharp, but because of the expression on his face and most of all his eyes. The title is perfect, he looks kind of nostalgic and sad =(

Very interesting style of editing you used. The emphasis of the hairs adds an element for me which leaves me on the fence. It makes it appear drawn or created rather then captured. Though still I scored higher because of the closeness and clarity of the image with well balanced colour.

Incredible detail and beautiful light. His expression is so wistful, like he is in fact dreaming of past glories, and his face bears the scars of many years.
