Never! Otherwise it's not basic.

My apology to everyone who commented and voted on my entry. It wasn't my intention to cheat although no one really accused me of cheating, but having won a ribbon with an illegally post-process made feel bad. Sorry to the 4th placer who has now his well deserved ribbon. Without a shadow of a doubt, I initially thought that my PP are legal, after all burning and dodging is one of the most basic form of PP, for it only enhances whats in the photo, nothing added nor subtracted. Anyhow, again apologies to everybody.

I can just imagine that you did the same thing that I did on my seventh challenge entry. I completely forgot that it was a basic editing challenge and applied advanced editing steps to my enty. Just like you, I even detailed the steps in the Photographer's Comments box.

I'm sorry for your DQ, but as has already been mentioned, it is still a great shot.

I like the image and the low vantage point you took.

1. You have someone looking into the camera.
2. You have background figures melding into the foreground figures.
3. You have powerlines.
4. You have the Posthumous Blue Ribbon.

Because rules don't matter. Only the photograph.

This is just spectacular! I love the angle / point-of-view, but the borders combined with the POV make me feel like I am lying on the ground, half conscious (eyes squinted). Still, a SUPER image!

what a great picture, excellent use of the low perpective. Interesting and candid, the look on the girls face seems to indicate surprise for sure.

Nice shot. Would be a bit better with a little separation between the girl and the person in back of her.
