Location: Parent's bedroom.

Shutter: 1/13 of a second

 I wanted this to be really grainy, so I shot it at iso1600, and other than the realy blown out part, it came out exactly how I wanted.

I wanted the only part in focus to be the light switch in off position, and the person in the back to be visible, but just barely.

I guess that's it. Just unsharp mask and resize.

I hope people can find the theme without looking at the title, although something tells me that's not going to happen. Either way, I really like this shot.

Nice image ..nice technique. don`t be put off by the negativity David.
Your image has probably suffered from the fact that a lot of voters only give the image 2 or 3 seconds viewing time.. I have been guilty of this myself in the past..but hopefully learned from it :)

Good use of shallow DOF and light (natural?) to create the feeling of light and dark in the image.

there's something about this that I really like....maybe would have been even better if the blur in the background was a tiny bit more specific of a person
