Lake Michigan, Chicago.

I wanted to title this Roe v. Wade after the landmark 1973 US Supreme Court decision that gave the US woman the right to abortion during her entire pregrancy and defined different levels of state interest for regulating abortion in the second and third trimesters. The conclusion held that a woman's right to an abortion falls within the right to privacy protected by the Fourteenth Amendment. But I thought that was a rather warped interpretation of that ruling.

So, it's "Stay on The Shallow Side Or ..." it is.

The lifeguard kept on following these kids, making sure that they stay on the shallow side of the lake. The older girl stared at him for a few minutes, quite defiant, standing her ground.

Tech: Neatimage, crop, resize, contrast/brightness, saturation, and unsharp mask.

Grr- I hate it when my top picks end up in the middle - this tells a great story - a lot of emotion in the picture. Lovely composition.

I like this shot, but IMo maybe just a little tighter on the top of the shot

Could have called this "Row V. Wade" and gotten a political angle.
