The title, off course, is meant ironically.

I was going through my closet not long ago and noticed how many pair off shoes I have, and how consistent my taste is, because a lot of pairs are almost identical. I checked some friends closets and cloncluded the same. And yes, choosing from 20 pair almost identical shoes is indeed very difficult.

You know what's the worst? I didn't throw ONE pair away after taking this picture, I put them all back, knowing I will probably never wear them. We are really nuts!

Hi from the Critique Club!

I like the tones in this shot, but I do wonder if color would have added more interest in this being a "choice."

The angle of this does add interest to the shot, and I think overall the exposure is pretty good - although I agree that the white shoes distract from the rest of the photo because of their brightness. So technically, aside from the white shoes, I like this shot well enough.

The subject choice itself does not really carry much interest for me. When I judge a photo's strength in meeting the challenge, I first look at the shot without a title and without knowing for sure which challenge it was in - and see if I can figure it out. I can figure it out with this one, so the connection to the challenge is there - I just don't personally find it an interesting way of conveying choice. I didn't vote on the choices challenge, but I would have given this one a 6.

Shoes might have made a more interesting subject with some color maybe -and a more unique composition? Maybe include some feet with a different shoe on each foot and a pile of shoes nearby? Just some thoughts.

I hope this is helpful!

Composition is effective as is the sepia toning. Definitely a choice!

Congratulations for your life, not difficult problems :)
the white shoes distract a little but good election in taking the picture in B&W

Definitely fits the challenge, I find the 'white' pair on the right of the shot very distracting and really too over pwering to the rest of the shot.

... and some aid workers in Africa have to choose which kids live or die. Well I think the choices we make are quite easy really...

Shot is OK but lacks a wide tonal range (over and under exposed).

Interesting composition. The shoes in the center right seem over exposed.

rather unoriginal and the white sandals seem to be overexposed

color might have brought home the difficulty in choice...
