Yeah... I think folks will know this is mine. *sigh*

I hope they don't vote me down because of it.

He's just so adorable, I couldn't resist shooting him for the triptych.

[Oct. 21st, 2009 08:44:08 AM]

No cold or other measures were done to make this fellow hold still.

So, he didn't. *sigh* He was a quick one... but I was quicker. LOL!

I don't have Topaz... it's Lucis Arts... and really not much of that.

Post challenge: Melethia, how do I get them to hold still? I don't. He moved around so much... it's a patience thing, I guess.
With toads/frogs, I don't mind picking them up and putting them back where I want them to be. But, this guy has spikey things that grab hold. I did NOT like that feeling on my hand at all. He hops really well. *sigh* I had him in my light tent, so he wouldn't escape into my bedroom. So, I just sort of scooted him over. Quickly. Before he had a chance to touch me again. :)

Ean and I were going thru these photos yesterday and we got to this one and he said "cooool!" He laughed at the grasshopper butt (typical boy!). Great clarity and lighting. Congrats on 6th place!

So how DO you get these guys to pose so well? Textbook. Seriously, these belong in a textbook on insects. But they're really way cuter than most textbook photos.

Congrats Lydia! Just missed the HM, but, hey, you are a star instead!

Someday, maybe for Best of 2009 I want to see a group portrait. All of your little critter buddies!

Amazing macro. The detail is stunning. I also love the three positions of the grasshopper. Wonderful. In my top 5 for the challenge. 9.

Very nice - and a better DOF than I would've expected on such a long creature. Was it a case of "in the freezer" with your model? :-)

well composed triptych and great detail in the hopper (note to self: buy Topaz soon). color seems a bit unnatural

Nice, crisp, clear pictures, with highlights but no blow out hot spots.

The background should have been blue, because I suspect he was cold to be sitting like this for you to take these pictures. Just an excellent entry, great color, focus and tone. This would normally do incredibly well, but this is a tough group of entries.

Hi Lydia! I can always tell which one is yours. Almost all of your shots have the same quality to them. So what happened here? Did the toads escape? lol
