I was going for the literal into the frame look here.
I cut a frame from card and hung it in front of my illuminated backdrop.
I then got my elder lad to pose whilst I snapped away.

Simple crop nad pretty basic edit.
The defect in the top left hand corner is driving me nuts but I don't have time to fix it...

Fantastic, a blue ribbon and already validated; it doesn't get much better lol.
Many thanks for all the great comments and forum banter.

If anyone is interested here is the original shot for this one.

Unbelievable that 3 people gave this a vote of one. Whoever you are, either study up on photography or stop voting.

I loved this shot--gave it a 10, myself. I'm amazed that it got a blue ribbon. It does not strike me as something that would do well here. Great idea; title really adds to the presentation. Congrats.

Too many 1,2,3 and 4 for a blue ribbon,
Seems too many wanted to put it down for its potential, allot are not playing fair. Too many DPCiers are not with anything that has a white background,
Any way,
I am happy it ribboned, it is a very well deserved one, congratulation,

This SO reminds me of the iiNet (an Australian ISP) ads here, it's just the kind of thing they would do, and your model looks JUST like the guy in those ads too!

Well done on the blue, I knew this one would score highly the second I saw it.

Nice one Will. Another ribbon and no chance of a DQ either :-), so it looks like I need to pull something out of the bag this week to catch you up again! Well deserved. Black backgrounds are soooo last year. White is clearly the new black!

This is by far the BEST idea I've seen =]
I love the humorous, and pretty literal, interpretation of the challenge.
The frame is a tad bit uneven, but I love the overall look.
