The nose of my black lab!
A bit hard to get a macro of something this wiggly! I love the texture of her nose.

Thanks, mag. No, doggy wasn't sleeping. Hubby gave her a treat each time she held still for a shot. After about a dozen tries, she got the hang of it. Be still while I stick a camera in her face and she gets a biscuit. It was a win/win situation. She loved the biscuit treats and I love this shot.

quite the detail on that nose, good job!

challenge -- now that's what i call a close-up & macro shot! :)
technical -- totally wonderful. excellent detail on the nose, and the reflections really make it look like the damp cold nose it is. the focus is great, too, the nose almost pops out of the image.
composition -- also very good.

Hey -- that looks like my dog's nose.

This would make a great "texture" shot. I don't care to get so up and close with my dog's snout. Smeared to many lenses this way. Great shot for the challenge. Doesn't make for a "wow" photo but right on for the challenge. very inspirational 7 though. PTL

Well, it's not a very appetizing photo but funny as anything I have seen lately. Thanks for the laugh. BTW, a very well done macro.

thats pertty close

Good DOF. I think including the top of the dog's head would've improved the framing by drawing the nose a little closer to the vertical center of the image. - Inspzil

Very nice. The focus is wonderful, something that many are lacking this week. I like the color as well. Did you have to rub meat on the camera or something?!? DPz

I had thought of doing a simular shot myself, but my chocolate lab wouldn't stay still long enough (and my black lab has already been in one challenge)
