 This is one of those real serendipitous moments. I certainly didn't shoot this with the intention of entering it in this challenge. In fact, I hadn't even noticed that the boy's shirt had a 9 on the back.

It is completely candid and not set up in any way. He was watching his friends playing on the beach.

Those fair haired kids wit he blown out hair! I would have wanted to see more of his face, or less. In other words I don't dig the angle haha. I also would have shot from lower if possible as the big wall of water is a little distracting as a back ground.

To my eyes (not well trained in observing sports gear) the nine is subtle. Strong light on face and knee present quite an exposure challenge. I wonder if a reflector (or light colored beach towel) aimed at the back of the clothing might have allowed a notch or two lower exposure value for the side facing the light (not that such set ups are always an option).
